Lux is my personal dog. She is a 6-year-old German Shepherd and is a lesson dog for Right Track Canines. On her days off from being a lesson dog, she is an on-call search and rescue K9.
As a lesson dog, Lux assists in the training process for other dogs, whether it's acting as a distraction, providing an example, or accompanying another service dog team in public, Lux can do it all.
Her main job is a certified search and rescue K9 for PA Wilderness Search and Rescue PaWSAR). She is certified through the International Police Work Dog Association for Wilderness search (live-find).
We have also competed in Search and Rescue sport, which is a two-phase sport consisting of a search (nose-work) phase and an obedience & dexterity phase. Lux has earned multiple titles under the USCA organization hosting this sport: RH1-FL-N (level 1 nose work title), BH/VT (obedience and temperament test), and AD (endurance test).
Lux was also recently cast in a 2023 Indie film called Dog Bites Man.
